Precautions for using metal filter elements in different environments. Nowadays, filters are used in various fields, and therefore the environments in which they are used are also diverse. This article will tell you what precautions should be taken when using filters in different environments.
Use in different environments Metal filter element Precautions for use Nowadays, filters are used in various fields, so the environments in which they are used are also diverse. This article will tell you what precautions should be taken when using filters in different environments.
Due to the special usage environment, metal filter elements generally have the characteristics of acid resistance, alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, high tensile strength, and wear resistance. They are mainly used for screening and filtration under acid-base environmental conditions, oil industry mud screen, chemical fiber industry screen filter, electroplating work pickling screen. Filter types: single-layer and multi-layer; according to shape, they are divided into circular, rectangular, waist-shaped, elliptical, etc. Multi-layer mesh has two and three layers. The diameter of the filter is generally 5 mm to 600 mm. Used in mining, petroleum, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and machinery manufacturing industries.

1. Using metal filter elements at ultra-high temperatures exceeding 400℃
Generally speaking, stainless steel mesh belts are high-temperature resistant, so the service life of stainless steel mesh belts will not be affected at 400℃, but the manufacturing processes of each manufacturer are different, so the performance of stainless steel mesh belts will vary. Slightly different, the service life will also be different. When using stainless steel mesh belts at high temperatures, some issues also need to be considered:
(1) Stainless steel mesh belts have a certain degree of thermal brittleness when working at high temperatures.
(2) The influence of high-temperature environments on lubrication.
(3) Creep.
(4) Heat generated by friction during the operation of the metal filter element.
(5) When the ambient temperature exceeds 400℃, the intermittent reduction caused by the expansion of parts should also be fully considered.
(6) Due to different manufacturing processes, stainless steel mesh belts have different coefficients of thermal expansion. When different materials are welded together, there is a possibility of thermal fatigue.
2. Using metal filter elements in abrasive environments
Using mesh belts in abrasive environments will cause particularly severe wear and tear. For the service life of the mesh belt, the following must be noted:
1. Reduce the chain speed as much as possible;
2. Please use grease lubricant.
3. Installing a chain cover can prevent the mesh belt from directly contacting the abrasive;
4. When the mesh belt contacts the abrasive, the appropriate conveyor type must be selected;
5. To reduce the hinge pressure of the pin and bushing assembly of the stainless steel filter mesh, please select a larger mesh belt;
3. When the stainless steel filter mesh contacts corrosive substances
Stainless steel filter mesh components will become thinner and thinner due to accelerated wear caused by corrosion from corrosive materials. Rust on ordinary mesh belt parts will also affect the flexible rotation of the stainless steel mesh belt hinges and rollers. When the stainless steel mesh belt continues to work in an acidic or alkaline environment, stress corrosion and crystallization corrosion will occur in the parts. Therefore, in highly corrosive environments, it is necessary to consider using special materials for Metal filter element processing.
